Travel Tip
Follow the seasons
When one coast rains, the other shines, so Thailand works all year round.
Temple bells, mountain mist and island light, all in one country
For travel agencies, tour operators and DMC partners.
Thailand rewards every sense. Dawn in Bangkok begins with saffron-robed monks collecting alms and longtail boats cutting across the Chao Phraya. By noon the Grand Palace glitters in the heat; by night the city moves to rooftop bars, jasmine-scented flower markets and street-food stalls that rival any restaurant in Asia. About an hour away, the temple ruins of Ayutthaya recall a kingdom that once traded with half the world.
Fly north to Chiang Mai and the tempo changes. More than three hundred temples stand in and around the old city, mist settles over the forested slopes of Doi Suthep, and artisans still carve, weave and paint in the villages beyond. Further north, Chiang Rai adds hill-country tea estates and the dazzling White Temple.
Then comes the coast. On the Andaman side, emerald limestone towers rise from Phang Nga Bay, Krabi's cliffs frame some of Asia's most photographed beaches, and Phuket's private villas look out over long golden sunsets. Across the peninsula, Koh Samui swaps nightlife for coconut groves, spa retreats and quiet coves on the Gulf of Thailand.
Beyond the famous names lies another Thailand: a floating market before the crowds arrive, a cooking class in a family kitchen, candlelit krathongs drifting down the river at Loy Krathong, a city-wide water fight at Songkran. These are the moments guests remember, and the ones we build every journey around.
